You can review and make changes to your Medicare coverage from October 15 to December 7.
Mark your calendars, the Annual Election Period has officially begun and it ends on December 7 for a January 1 effective date.
During this time, you can do the following:
- Enroll into a Medicare Advantage Plan for the first time or switch from your current Medicare Advantage Plan. (Click here to learn more about MAPD plans. In Southern California counties, you could qualify for a zero premium.)
- Change from one Medicare Advantage plan to Original Medicare
- Enroll in a Part D prescription drug plan
- Change from one Medicare prescription drug plan to another
Even if you are happy with your current coverage, you should be review your coverage to ensure that you plan still meets your financial needs.
